Beef Pot Roast

Ingredients

  • 3 1/2 pound rump or chuck roast (boneless)
  • 3 Tbsp. salad1
  • 1 1/2 cups beef broth
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 2 onions quartered
  • 2 carrots cut up
  • 1/2 teasp. salt
  • 1/2 teasp coarse pepper
  • Flour

Preparation

Step 1

Brown beef in oil. Add 1/4 cup beef broth. Add remaining ingredients. Cover and simmer 2 1/2 hrs., basting with additional broth to prevent burning. Sprinkle flour over meat turn and sprinkle more flour. If necessary add more broth for the sauce.
