Ingredients

  • 2 cups brown sugar (moderately packed)
  • 2/3 cup butter
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 12 oz package of chocolate chips (Milk or Dark depending on preference)
  • 1 cup of walnut pieces

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 350.
Cream the brown sugar and butter, add the eggs and vanilla and mix thoroughly. Combine the 4 dry ingredients in a separate bowl and add this to the sugar mix about 1/3 at a time. Mix until it is a consistent batter. Stir in the chocolate and nuts.

Grease and flour a 13 x 9 glass baking dish. Pour the batter into dish and spread evenly.

Bake for 25 minutes. (You may need to add 2 – 3 minutes depending on how quickly your oven bakes.)

Let them cool completely before cutting into squares.
