Cherry Winks

Ingredients

• 2 1/2 cups sifted flour
• 1 tsp baking powder
• 1/2 tsp baking soda
• 1/2 tsp salt
• 3/4 cup butter
• 1 cup sugar
• 2 eggs
• 2 tbs milk
• 1 tsp vanilla
• 1 cup chopped nuts
• 1 cup finely chopped dates
• 1/3 cup finely chopped maraschino
• cherries
• 2 1/2 cup corn flake crumbs
• 12 maraschino cherries, quartered

Preparation

Step 1

Sift together flour, baking powder, baking soda & salt. Blend butter & sugar, add eggs, beat well. Stir in milk & vanilla. Add sifted dry ingredients with nuts, dates & cherries and mix well.
Shape dough into balls, using 1 tbs dough. Roll balls in corn flake crumbs. Place on greased baking sheet. Top each cookie with quartered cherry.
Bake at 375 about 12 minutes or until
lightly browned.
