TOURTIERE MEAT MIXTURE (Nana)

Ingredients

  • 4 pounds of fresh minced pork
  • 2 pounds of fresh minced veal
  • 2 minced onions
  • 1 big potato in small cubes
  • 1 big garlic clove minced
  • salt
  • pepper
  • bay leaves
  • 3 cups of boiling water
  • allspice (to taste)

Preparation

Step 1

1. Mix all ingredients and simmer for about 3 hours stirring often.
2. When done add allspice and taste.
3. Cool before assembling pies.

This recipe makes 6 pies.
