Ingredients
- Smoked Pineapple and Pepper Relish:
- 4 -( 4 ounce) Hawaiian Ahi Steaks
- (Yellow Fin Tuna)
- 2 teaspoons vegetable oil
- 1 tablespoon sake
- 1 tablespoon soy sacue
- 1 tablespoon lime juice
- 1/2 ripe pineapple (cleaned)
- 1/2 small yellow onion
- 1 small red bell pepper
- 3 tablespooons red wine vinegar
- 2 tablespoons chinese parsley (Cilantro)
- 1 teaspoon soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
Preparation
Step 1
For Tuna:
Mix the vegetable oil with the sake, soy sauce, and lime juice in a small bowl. Rub the steaks all over with the oil-soy mixture. Then set aside.
Using an outdoor grill, over a medium hot fire, grill the steaks for 3 1/2 minutes per side or grill to your desired temperature. Serve the steaks with the Smoked Pineapple and Pepper Relish
For the Relish:
Coat the pineapple, onion and pepper with the olive oil. Over a medium fire, grill the fruit and vegetables for 5 minutes on 2 sides. Remove the fruit and vegetables from the grill. At this time you will need to remove the skin from the bell peppers and allow all to cool to room temperature. Then cut them all into rather small pieces. In a bowl, bring together all ingredients and mix well. Serve with seafood, poultry or pork.
