Ingredients

  • 1/2 lb. lean, tender beef (or veal)
  • 2 tbsp. oil
  • 1 chopped onion
  • 2 c. Del Monte French cut green beans
  • 1 c. celery, cut up
  • 1 tbsp. cornstarch
  • 1 tbsp. soy sauce
  • 3/4 c. liquid juice from mushrooms & water
  • 1 can sliced mushrooms
  • 1 jar diced pimentos

Step 1

Cut beef in strips. Brown in oil in skillet for about 1 1/2 hours at 320 degrees until meat is browned and liquid cooked away. Add small amount of water or beef broth every 15 minutes or as needed to keep meat from burning. Add onion, celery and mushrooms. Simmer one hour. Add beans and pimento. Combine cornstarch with soy sauce and liquid from mushrooms and add. Set skillet to 320 degrees and let ingredients cook for half an hour. Serve with rice.
