Fabulous Fudge

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 C sugar
  • 2/3 C evaporated milk
  • 2 T butter
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 2 C marshmallow in a jar or mini marshmallows
  • 1 1/2 C semi sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 C chopped walnuts or pecans
  • 1 tsp vanilla

Preparation

Step 1

Line an 8 inch square baking pan with double layer of aluminum or parchment. Make the side of the tin foil very long. Roll down the side of the foil to use as handles. This will help you lift the entire pan of fudge out of the baking pan to put on a cutting board for slicing into squares.

Combine sugar, evaporated milk, butter and salt in the top part of a double boiler. Add hot water in the pan below and heat top and bottom pots over medium heat while stirring constantly for five minutes. Remove from heat.

Stir in marshmallow, chocolate chips, nuts and vanilla. Stir vigorously for one minute until marshmallow is melted. Pour into prepared pan and refrigerate for two hours until totally set.

Lift from pan using the tin foil. Store in tightly covered container.
