Hidden Apple Coffee Cake
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1/3 cup chopped nuts
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 2 cans Pillsbury Buttermilk Biscuits 7.5oz each
- 1/4 cup butter or margarine, melted
- 1 each peeled apples, cut into 20 slices
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon vanilla
- 3 teaspoons milk
HEAT oven to 400. Grease 9 inch round cake pan.
COMBINE sugar, nuts, and cinnamon.
SEPARATE dough into 20 biscuits. Dip biscuits in melted margarine, then in sugar mixture. Arrange biscuits in prepared pan, overlapping 15 biscuits around outer edge of pan; overlap remaining 5 biscuits in the center of pan. Place an apple slice between each biscuit. Bake at 400 for 25 to 30 minutes or until golden brown. Remove from pan immediately. Cool 5 minutes.
COMBINE milk, vanilla, powdered sugar; beat until smooth. Drizzle over warm coffee cake.
