Ingredients
- 1 head garlic
- 2 tsp olive oil
- 3/4 C mayo
- 1 tsp apple cider vinegar
- 2 tsp paprika
- 2 tsp onion powder
- 1/2 tsp dried oregano
- 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper or chipotle chile powder
- S & P
- 3 TBL butter, melted
- 1 LB lg. shrimp, peeled & deveined, w/ tails left on
Preparation
Step 1
bake 1 head garlic
squeeze garlic cloves from their skins into food processor
add mayo & vinegar
puree
transfer the aioli to bowl & refrig
meanwhile, in sm. skillet toast paprika, onion powder, oregano, cayenne & 1/2tsp each S & P over med heat until fragrant - abt 1 min
stir in melted butter
transfer to bowl & add shrimp to coat
brush grill pan w/ remaining 1 tsp olive oil & preheat over high heat
add shrimp & cook, turning once, until spices are blackened, 2-4 min
serve w/ aioli dip
