Salisbury Steak

Ingredients

  • 1 can mushroom soup, condensed, divided
  • 1 1/2 pounds lean ground beef
  • 1/2 cup onion, diced
  • 1/2 cup bread crumbs
  • 1 egg white
  • 8 ounces fresh mushrooms
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper

Preparation

Step 1

In a lare bowl, combine 1/4 cup condensed mushroom soup, the beef, onions, breadcrumbs and the egg white. Mix well. Shape mixture into 6 oval patties.

In a lare skillet, over medium-high heat, brown the patties on all sides. Remove patties from the pan and drain any fat from the skillet.

Return the skillet to the heat. Add the mushrooms to the skillet. Stir until tender, about 5 minutes. add remaining mushroom soup, broth, Worcestershire sauce and pepper. Stir until warm.

Add browned patties to the skillet, bring to a boil. Reduce heat to medium and simmer for 10-20 minutes, depending on level of desired doneness.

Serve immediately.
