Ingredients
- 2 cups small curd cottage cheese
- 1 cup (8 oz) sour cream
- 1 egg, lightly beaten
- 3/4 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups (8 oz) sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
- 1 package (7 oz) elbow macaroni, cooked and drained
- garlic salt and pepper to taste
- 1/4 cup melted butter
- 1/3 cup bread crumbs
Preparation
Step 1
1. Combine cottage cheese, sour cream, egg, salt, garlic salt and pepper. Add cheddar cheese and mix well. Add macaroni and stir until coated.
2. Combine melted butter and bread crumbs.
3. Transfer macaroni and cheese to a greased 2.5 quart baking dish. Sprinkle top with bread crumb mix. Bake, uncovered, at 350 degrees for 25 to 30 minutes or until heated through. Sprinkle with paprika, if desired.
Notes: Can be prepared several hours ahead and refrigerated.
