Coffee Cake (Julie Gotwals)

Ingredients

• Topping:
• 3 c flour
• 1 c sugar
• 4 t baking powder
• 1 t salt
• 1/2 c shortening
• 2 eggs, beaten
• 1 c milk
• 2 t vanilla
• 1 c brown sugar
• 1/4 t salt
• 6 T margarine
• 1 c chocolate chips
• 4 T flour
• 2 t cinnamon
• 1 c chopped nuts

Preparation

Step 1

Sift together all dry ingredients, cut in shortening, stir in egg, milk and vanilla. Spread half the batter in greased 9x13 baking pan. Cover with half the topping mixture. Spoon over remaining batter and cover with remaining topping. Bake at 350 for 25-30 minutes.
