Ingredients
- 3 cups of Sultana light brown raisins (optional)
- 4 cups of mixed candied fruits
- 2 cups of slivered almonds
- Zest of one lemon
- 1 cup of white wine
- 4 1/2 cups of flour
- 1/2 teaspoon of salt
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 2 cups of butter
- 2 cups of sugar
- 9 eggs
Preparation
Step 1
1. Papered your molds.
2. Mix candied fruits, almonds and lemon zest and sprinkle with flour. Cover with white wine and let aside.
3. Mix flour, salt and baking powder.
4. Beat the butter into cream and gradually add sugar. Beat in the eggs one by one.
5. Incorporate dry ingredients, lemon juice and candied fruits mixture.
6. Fill prepared molds to 2/3.
Bake at 275 from 3 through 3 ½ hours. Put a bowl of hot water in the oven for the last hour of baking.
7. Let cool before taking paper off. Wrap well and keep hermetically closed.
