OATS CAKE (Marie Champoux)

Ingredients

  • Cake:
  • 2 1/2 cups water
  • 1 cup of semi salted butter
  • 2 cups of oats
  • 1 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 2/3 cups flour
  • 2 teaspoons of baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon basking soda
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • Frosting:
  • 1 cup butter
  • 2 cups brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 3-4 cups icing sugar

Preparation

Step 1

Boil water with butter. Add oats stir and cool.

1. Beat sugar, brown sugar and eggs until smooth.
2. Mix with dry ingredients, alterning.
3. Put in 3 greased and floured pans.
4. Cook 40-45 minutes at 350.
5. For the frosting, melt the butter and sugar and cook slowly medium heat. Add milk and bring to boil stirring. Cool and add icing sugar until right for the frosting.
