Ingredients
- icing:
- 1/4 cup of butter
- 1 cup of sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon of salt
- 1 cup of water
- 1 1/2 cups of cut dates
- 2 1/2 cups of flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 egg
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 tablespoons of cream
- 6 tablespoons of butter
Preparation
Step 1
1. Cream butter and add sugar and salt. Add egg and beat well.
2. Sift together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and add to the butter mixture.
3. Boil the dates in water and when you take off add vanilla.
4. Add to the other mixture. Mix slowly.
5. Pour in a 9x15 pan and cook at 325 for 25-30 minutes.
6. Prepare the icing by mixing all ingredients and spread on the cake.
7. Return to the oven for 5 minutes.
