  • 6 cups French bread cut into 1” cubes
  • 2 cups meat (ham, bacon, sausage)
  • 1/2 cup green onion, diced
  • If desired, diced vegetables such as red peppers, mushrooms, tomatoes
  • 1-1/2 cup (6oz) shredded cheddar cheese
  • 10 eggs
  • 1-1/3 cup milk or half and half
  • 1/3 cup white wine or chicken broth
  • 1/4 cup Dijon mustard
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Step 1

Wisk together: eggs, milk, mustard, wine, salt and pepper. Place bread cubes in the bottom of a 13x9-inch casserole dish. Spread meat, onions, vegetables and cheese over bread. Pour egg mixture over everything. Cover and refrigerate 6 hours or overnight. Bake, uncovered, at 325 degrees for 50-60 minutes. Let stand 10 minutes then serve warm.
