Ingredients
- Kale:
- 2 tblsp. Butter
- 1/4 cup Onions, chopped
- 2 tblsp. Flour
- 2 cups Heavy Cream
- Pinch of Nutmeg
- Salt and Pepper to taste
- Carmelized Onions:
- 1/2 stick Butter
- 2 tblsp. Sugar
- 8-10 Pearl Onions
Preparation
Step 1
Chop and boil kale in salted water for 15-20 minutes and drain well.
To make cream sauce, melt butter with onions. Add flour and cook 2 minutes, then add cream stirring frequently until thickened. Season with salt and pepper to taste and add nutmeg. Add cream to drained kale.
Onions:
While making cream sauce, add peeled pearl onions to melted butter and sugar. Cook about 10 minutes til browned. Place onions on top of creamed kale and serve.
