Monkey Bread

  • Dredge:
  • 2 lb frozen bread dough, thawed
  • 1 c sugar
  • 1/4 c brown sugar
  • 1/4 c milk
  • 1 Tbsp butter
  • 1 1/4 tsp cinnamon
  • 3/4 c. chopped pecans
  • 1/4 c sugar
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon

Preparation

Step 1

Thaw bread dough in fridge 12 hours, or use homemade bread in after punching down and shaping into a roll. Combine sugars, cinnamon, milk, and butter in a saucepan and boil 1 minute. Remove from heat and cool 10 minutes.

Sprinkle nuts into lightly greased bunt pan Cut loaves into 24 equal portions. Combine dredge mix and dredge each pice in it before layering into a lightly greased bundt or other large pan. Pour sugar mix over dough, cover and let it rise for 35 minutes or until nearly doubled.

Bake at 350 for 25 minutes until lightly browned. Invert onto a deep-sided plate. Serve immediately.
