Ingredients
- FOR BASIC CHOCOLATE:
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1/4 cup plus 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
- 1 (16oz) pkg confectioners' sugar
- 1/4 cup plus 3 tblsp milk, warm
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- FOR BASIC VANILLA:
- 2 cups confectioners' sugar
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
- 2 tablespoons milk
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- FOR BASIC CREAM CHEESE:
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
- 4 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 1/4 cups confectioners' sugar
Preparation
Step 1
FOR CHOCOLATE:
Use an electric mixer on medium speed to cream the butter. Add the cocoa and mix well. Slowly beat int he sugar, adding the warm milk until smooth. Stir in the vanilla.
FOR VANILLA:
With an electric mixer on medium speed, combine all the ingredients in a bowl and beat until smooth and fluffy.
FOR CREAM CHEESE:
With an electric mixer on medium speed, beat together the butter and cream cheese until smooth. Mix in the vanilla. Slowly mix in the sugar until smooth and creamy.
