Ingredients
- Bread Pudding:
- 1 (16-ounce) package pre-made cinnamon rolls or other sweet buns
- 3 1/4 cups whole or 2 percent milk
- 10 eggs
- 1 1/2 cups sugar
- 1 tablespoon each: cinnamon, vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- 8 ripe bananas, divided
- 1/2 cup each: chocolate chips, raisins
- 1/4 cup coarse sanding sugar
- 3 tablespoons melted butter
- Vanilla Sauce:
- 1 tablespoon plus 1 teaspoon unsalted butter
- 1 tablespoon plus 1 teaspoon flour
- 1 1/4 cups whole or 2 percent milk
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1 egg, beaten
- Pinch coarse salt
- 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract

Preparation
Step 1
Bread Pudding:
Dice rolls into 1-inch pieces.
Put in 9x13-inch dish.
Whisk milk, eggs, sugar, cinnamon, vanilla, nutmeg.
Mash 6 bananas; stir in egg mix.
Slice remaining bananas; add to rolls.
Top with chocolate, raisins.
Pour egg mix in baking dish.
Let rest 30 minutes.
Bake 55 minutes.
Top with melted butter and sanding sugar.
Vanilla Sauce:
Mix butter and flour in pan on medium heat; cook 5 minutes, stirring.
Whisk milk, cream, sugar, egg, salt.
Add milk mix to flour mix, gently whisking until mixture thickens.
Stir in vanilla.
Serve sauce with warm bread pudding.
