Brussels Sprouts with Canadian Bacon

Ingredients

  • 2 large packages Brussels sprouts
  • 1 pound Canadian bacon
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes

Preparation

Step 1

Wash and halve Brussels sprouts unless they are really small
Chop up Canadian bacon and then fry in a large frying pan, when crisp remove with a slotted spoon and place on a paper towel to dry
Place Brussels sprouts in pan and fry until brown
Add garlic, red pepper flakes and some of the chicken stock
Scrape up the brown bits from the bottom of the pan add a little more chicken stock and cover
Cook until fork tender (or whatever texture you like your sprouts)
Remove from pan to serving dish and sprinkle with the crumbled bacon.
