ONCE MILK IS WARMED, WHISK TOGETHER REMAINING 1/4 CUP SUGAR,CORNSTARCH,COCOA, CINNAMON, AND SALT IN MEDIUM BOWL.WHISK IN EGG YOLKS AND REMAINING 1/4 CUP MILK.STIR IN A LITTLE OF HOT MILK MIXTURE.STIR EGG MIXTURE INTO SAUCEPAN,COOK,STIRRING CONSTANTLY WITH WOODEN SPOON, OVER MEDIUM-LOW TO MEDIUM HEAT UNTIL THICKENED AND COATS THE BACK OF A SPOON, ABOUT 20MINS. REMOVE FROM HEAT.STIR IN CHOPPED CHOCOLATE,BUTTER AND VANILLA UNTIL SMOOTH.
DIVIDE AMONG 6 SERVING DISHES-2/3CUP IN EACH.COOL 10MINS.COVER WITH PLASTIC WRAP.REFRIGERATE AT LEAST 2 HOURS.GARNISH W/COOKIE IF DESIRED
