Seafood Bouillabaisse

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs fish boned.
  • 1/2 lb shrimp
  • 1 lb clams and or mussels ( use any combination you want)
  • 2 Tbs Olive oil
  • 2 Tbs vegetable oil
  • 1/2 green pepper, chopped
  • 2 onions, chopped
  • 6 cloves garlic crushed
  • 6 cups of fish Broth ( or use 3 Cups water, 1 cup chicken broth and 2 cups clam broth if you don't have fish broth)
  • 3 tomatoes , cut in wedges
  • 1 large can plum tomatoes
  • 1/4 tsp saffron
  • 1/4 tsp thyme
  • 1 bay leaf
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Preparation

Step 1

1. heat olive oil and vegetable oil in a dutch oven, add onions, garlic and green pepper till soft
2. Add fish broth, tomatoes and spices. Cook 15 minutes on medium low heat to simmer. Add fish and shellfish and cook until shells open. Discard any shells that do not open
3. Serve with crusty bread
