Ingredients

  • 1 Cup Peanut Butter, smooth
  • 2/3 Cup Butter, softened
  • 1 1/2 Cups Brown Sugar, firmly packed
  • 1 1/2 Cups Sugar
  • 4 Eggs
  • 4 tsp. Vanilla
  • 2 Cups Flour
  • 2 tsp. Baking Powder
  • 1/2 tsp. Salt
  • 1 Pkg. Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips

Step 1

Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Grease a 9 x 13 inch baking pan and set aside. In a large bow, cream together peanut butter, butter, brown sugar and sugar and well blended and smooth. Make sure any lumps of brown sugar are dissolved. Add eggs and vanilla; mix until smooth and creamy and thoroughly blended. Add flour, baking powder and salt. Mix thoroughly until the batter is once again smooth and creamy. Spoon batter into the prepared pan. Sprinkle chocolate chips over the batter and put into the oven for 5 minutes. Remove from oven and using a butter knife, swirl the chocolate chips through the dough. Bake for 40 more minutes. Remove from oven. The bars are done when a knife inserted in the center comes out clean (some chocolate may stick to the knife. Cool for 1 hour, then cut into squares.
