SOFT GINGERBREAD

Ingredients

  • Directions:
  • 1 ½ cups sifted flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 ½ teaspoons ginger
  • 1 ½ teaspoons cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon cloves
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 eggs
  • ½ cup molasses
  • ½ cup sour milk or buttermilk
  • ½ cup butter or shortening
  • ½ cup sugar
  • ●Heat oven to 350 degrees.
  • ●Grease and lightly flour an 8 inch square pan.
  • ●Sift flour, baking soda , spices, and salt into a bowl and set aside.
  • ●Cream sugar and butter; add eggs and molasses.
  • ●Add flour and buttermilk alternately to sugar mixture.
  • ●Pour into prepared pan and bake 20 to 30 minutes.

Cut into squares and serve.
