Sausage mushroom egg casserole

Ingredients

  • 6-8 slices white bread, crust removed
  • Small can mushrooms
  • 5 eggs
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1/4 tsp salt and pepper
  • 1 tsp worscheshire sauce
  • 1 tsp dry mustard
  • 1 lb loose breakfast sausage
  • 1/2 cup Swiss cheese
  • 1/2 cup cheddar cheese

Preparation

Step 1

Brown sausage then drain on paper towels. Grease a 9x13 pan. Cover bottom of pan with bread snugly. Slightly beat eggs. Add milk, salt, pepper, worscheshire and mustard. Distribute sausage over bread, then mushrooms. Pour milk/egg and spice mixture over. Cover with cheese. Cover tightly with foil. Refrigerate overnight. Bake at 350 degrees for 35-40 minutes or puffed golden brown.

*serve with fresh fruit, coffee cake and mimosas.
