Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 cups light brown sugar
- 3/4 cup unsalted butter
- 2/3 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 2/3 cup walnuts, finely chopped
- 2 eggs
- 1 tbsp maple syrup
- 1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp baking soda
- 3/4 tsp salt
Preparation
Step 1
Preheat oven to 350º F and line an 8x8 or 9x9-inch baking dish with non-stick spray.
In a medium bowl, sift flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt together.
In a large bowl or mixer, cream together butter and sugar for 2-3 minutes, or until light and fluffy.
One by one, add eggs to the butter mixture until incorporated, then vanilla extract and maple syrup.
1/3 cup at a time, add in flour mixture and stir until just incorporated. Then gently fold in walnuts and chocolate chips.
Pour batter into baking dish and place in oven for 20-25 minutes, or slightly longer if you like them a little more set.
Remove from oven, let cool and cut into squares.
