Ingredients
- 8-10 Chicken pieces or whole fryer cut up
- 1 1/2 tsp. Garlic Salt
- 2 tsp. Black Pepper
- 1 Egg, beaten with a splash of water
- 3/4 cup Hot Sauce, such as Frank's Red Hot
- 2-3 cups Self-Rising Flour
- 2-3 cups of Peanut or Vegetable Oil
Preparation
Step 1
Season chicken with garlic salt and 1 teaspoon of black pepper. Mix egg with hot sauce and pour over chicken and coat well. Let the chicken marinade for about 1/2 hour. Add the other 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper to the flour in a paper bag. Drop chicken in the bag and coat well with flour. Shake off excess flour and fry at 350 degrees until golden brown (about 15 minutes).
