Apple Dumplings

Ingredients

  • Sauce:
  • 5 or 6 apples
  • Pastry for 9” crust
  • 2 1/2 c. sugar
  • 4 T. butter
  • 2 1/2 c. hot water
  • 1 t. lemon juice
  • Butter 7 X 11 pan
  • Peel apples and cut into slices.
  • Make pastry and roll out. Place apples on squares. Dot each heap with 1 T. sugar and dot with butter and 1/2 t. cinnamon.
  • Bring pastry corners up and pinch to seal.
  • Combine sugar and rest of sauce ingredients. Pour over dumplings and bake one hour 350.
