Rose Shaped Apple Baked Dessert

Ingredients

  • Make 6 Rose Apples
  • 1 frozen puff pastry,
  • 2 organic red apples,
  • 1 tablespoon flour,
  • 3 tablespoons apricot preserves
  • Cinnamon, icing sugar.

Preparation

Step 1

Cut apples in half from stem down to base. Notch the top and bottom and then remove the seed section with a small circle cut.

Lay one apple half cut side down and cut into thin slices.

In a large bowl willed half way with water add the juice of half a lemon.

Add the apple slices and microwave for about 3 minutes.

Strain out the water.

In a bowl with 3 tablespoons apricot preserve add 2 tablespoons of water and microwave 1 minute. Stir well.

Unwrap one sheet of thawed puff pastry on floured work surface. Add more flour to the puff pastry and roll and stretch the pastry out with a rolling pin.

Cut pastry into 6 strips from shortest width. Approximately 2-3 inches in width.

Spread each strip with the apricot preserve.

Place the apple slices on the upper half of the dough allowing the curved part of the apple to hang over the dough edge.

Sprinkle stip with cinnamon.

Fold the bottom dough in half over the apple slices and roll the dough to make a flower.

Insert apple flowers into cupcake pan and bake at 375 degrees for 40-45 minutes.

Sprinkle with powdered sugar when done and enjoy!
