No Roll Peach Cobbler

Ingredients

  • 2 c slice peaches or c large cans of peaches in heavy syrup, omit 1 cup of suger if using canned peaches.
  • 1 1/2 c sugar
  • 1 stick real butter
  • 3/4 c flour
  • 2 Tbs baking powder
  • pinch of salt
  • 3/4 c milk

Preparation

Step 1

Mix sliced peaches and 1 c sugar (set aside)
Put butter in baking dish (2 qt) set in oven to melt while oven is preheating.
Combine 1/2 c sugar, flour, baking powder, salt and milk. Pour over melted butter. DO NOT STIR.
Put sweeten peaches on top of batter. DO NOT STIR.
Bake 350' for 1 hour.
The batter will rise to the top while baking and become crisp and brown. Serve with ice cream or more fresh peaches if desired.
