Bandh Gobi Bhuna

Quite dry but good cabbage dish to serve with Indian meal.

Ingredients

  • 2 tsp cumin seeds
  • 2 tsp fennel seeds
  • 1 onion, peeled, halved and very thinly sliced
  • 1 large green cabbage, halved, cored and finely shredded
  • 1/2 tsp mild chilli powder
  • 1/2 tsp garam masala

Preparation

Step 1

Spray a large frying pan with cooking spray and place over high heat. Add cumin and fennel seeds and stir-fry 30 seconds. Add onion and stir-fry 5-6 minutes or until onion starts to brown.

Add cabbage and continue to stir-fry over high heat until the cabbage starts to wilt and go slightly brown. Add the chilli powder and turn the heat to low. Cook 7-8 minutes, stirring often. Sprinkle in garam masala and season well. Remove from heat and serve.
