Ingredients
- 1/2 Cup Quick Cooking Oatmeal
- 2 1/4 Cups Flour
- 1 1/2 tsp. Baking Soda
- 1/2 tsp. Salt
- 1/4 tsp. Cinnamon
- 1 Cup Butter or Margarine
- 3/4 Cup Brown Sugar, packed
- 3/4 Cup Sugar
- 2 tsp. Vanilla
- 1 tsp. Lemon Juice
- 2 Eggs
- 3 Cups Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips
- 1 1/2 Cup Walnuts, chopped
Preparation
Step 1
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a large mixing bowl cream butter, sugar, brown sugar, vanilla and lemon juice. Add eggs and beat until fluffy. In a separate bowl, combine dry ingredients. Stir flour mixture into creamed mixture, blending well. Add the chocolate chips and nuts to the dough and mix well. Using 1/4 cup of dough for each cookie, scoop round balls with an ice cream scoop and place 2" apart on prepared cookie sheets. Bake until cookies are lightly browned, 16-18 minutes. Transfer to a wire rack to cool. Store in a sealed container to keep them soft and chewy.
