Ingredients
- Orange Coconut Frosting:
- 1/2 Cup Butter
- 2 Eggs
- 1 tsp. Baking Soda
- 3/4 Cup Buttermilk
- 1 1/2 Cups Flour
- 1 Cup Dates, chopped
- 1 Cup Orange Pieces, finely chopped
- 1 Cup Walnuts
- 1/4 Cup Flour
- 1/4 Cup Butter
- 2 Cups Powdered Sugar
- 2 Tbs. Orange Juice
- 1/2 Cup Coconut

Step 1
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Cream butter and sugar. Blend in eggs. Combine baking soda with buttermilk. Add flour alternately with buttermilk mixture to butter mixture. Coat dates, orange pieces and walnuts with 1/4 cup flour. Fold into batter. Pour into a greased and floured 9 x 13" pan and bake for 25-30 minutes. For frosting: cream butter and add powdered sugar. Blend in orange juice and coconut. Frost cooled cake.
