Pineapple Margarita

Ingredients

  • 1 jigger (1 and 1/2 ounces) tequila (I used Jose Cuervo)
  • 1/2 jigger (3/4 ounce) Cointreau or Triple Sec
  • 1 jigger (1 and 1/2 ounces) lime juice (usually about 1 whole lime worth)
  • 2 jiggers (3 ounces) pineapple juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon sugar
  • ice, for the shaker
  • course salt, for the rim of the glass (kosher salt works well too)
  • (optional) pineapple chunks, for garnish

Preparation

Step 1

Add the tequila, Cointreau or Triple Sec, lime juice, pineapple juice, and sugar to the shaker.
Add ice to the shaker, and shake like crazy until it’s chilled.
Place the salt in a shallow dish.
Place a little bit of water (or lime juice if you have any extra) in a shallow dish.
Moisten the rim of a glass by dipping it in the water dish and then slide it around in the salt dish.
Pour the mixed drink into the glass.
(Optional) Serve with pineapple chunks and/or slices of lime for garnish.s.
