  • ~ 1/2 Pound Ground Italian Sausage
  • ~ 1 Medium Onion Chopped
  • ~ 1/2 Teaspoon Red Pepper Flakes
  • ~ Cloves Garlic, Minced
  • ~ 16 Ounce Tomato Sauce
  • ~ 2 Teaspoon Italian Seasoning
  • ~ 1 Teaspoon Dried Basil
  • ~ 1/3 Cup Ricotta Cheese
  • ~ 1/4 Cup Cottage Cheese (Optional)
  • ~ 1/4 Cup Grated Parmesan Cheese
  • ~ 1/2 Pound Bow Tie Pasta
  • ~ 1 Cup Shredded Cheddar Cheese

Preparation

Step 1

* Prepare the pasta according to the package directions
* Meanwhile in a large skillet, brown the ground beef and sausage drain the grease
* Add the onion and red pepper flakes, cook for 5 minutes till onion is tender
* Stir in the garlic and reduce heat medium, stir in the tomato sauce, Italian seasoning, and basil
* Stir in the ricotta, cottage cheese, and Parmesan
* Drain the pasta and stir into meat mixture and combine well
* Pour the mixture into a 2.5 quart casserole dish
* Top with Cheddar Cheese
* Bake, uncovered, in a 350 degree oven for 20 minutes
