Preparation

Step 1

Crush about 1/3 cup freeze dried raspberries into a fine powder. They add fantastic flavor along with a pretty tint to the lip balm. Use a fine mesh strainer to remove the seeds to keep a smooth texture.

Use a double boiler process to melt down the bees wax and coconut oil. Stirring constantly will help speed up the melting process.

Remove from the heat and add in the essential oil and powdered raspberries. Have the tubes standing with caps off and ready to fill as soon as everything is mixed together.

Fill the medicine dropper from the bowl and quickly, but carefully, fill one tube at a time.
The raspberry powder will settle a little bit to the bottom of the bowl (and tubes) make sure when you’re drawing the liquid up into the medicine dropper that you are also collecting some of the raspberry.

Continue filling each tube until the mixture if used up.

You’ll notice that the powder is settling to the bottom of the tubes, if you prefer you can quickly cap each tube after filling and flip it over and continue turning to try to keep an even coloring.

*Using 2 tablespoon of coconut oil and 1 tablespoon of bees wax along with the powdered raspberries and essential oil, this recipe made exactly 5 tubes that were 5ml/1 teaspoon each.

Adding a little more bees wax make a larger batch. I used a medicine dropper to fill each tube quickly and mess free.
