Ingredients

  • Shrimp shells/ tails
  • 1/4 c mushroom stems/trimmings
  • 1/2 c chopped onion
  • 1/4 c celery pieces & leaves
  • 1/4 c carrot pieces
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 1 lemon, sliced
  • 1-2 bay leaves
  • 1/8 t dried thyme
  • 1/2 t black peppercorns
  • 1/2 t shrimp or Cajun seasoning
  • 6-8 c water

Preparation

Step 1

Bring to almost a boil. Reduce to low & simmer 45 min. to 1 hr. When completed, strain & immediately cool stock using an ice bath.

Use amount needed & refrigerate or freeze the rest.
