CHICKEN PARMESAN MEATBALL CASSEROLE

Ingredients

  • MEATBALL
  • 1 lb. ground chicken
  • 1 cup panko bread crumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • CASSEROLE
  • 1 lb. ziti
  • 24 oz. marinara sauce
  • 2 cup shredded mozzarella
  • 1 tsp. Italian seasoning

Preparation

Step 1

Bring a large pot of water to a boil and add pasta. Cook one minute less than package directions.

Preheat oven to 450*.

While pasta is cooking prepare meatballs. Add all ingredients to a large bowl and mix well. Form into small balls and place on parchment paper lined baking sheet. Bake for 10 minutes or until cooked through and no longer pink. Remove from the oven and reduce the temperature to 350*.

Add pasta to a large bowl and stir in the meatballs. Add marinara and stir to coat.

Spread half the pasta in a 9x13 baking dish. Top with half the mozzarella. Repeat layers. Sprinkle with italian seasoning. Bake 20 minutes or until cheese is melted.

TO FREEZE:
Do not bake. Cover tightly with aluminum foil and freeze.

TO BAKE AFTER FREEZING:
Take out of freezer and bake at 350* for 45 minutes or until hot and bubbly.
