Chocolate Grand Marnier bundt cake

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon butter, melted for greasing the pan
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 3/4 cup strong coffee
  • 1/4 cup Grand Marnier
  • 1 stick salted butter, cut into small pieces
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2/3 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • confectioners sugar for dusting

Preparation

Step 1

1. Preheat oven to 325°F. Butter bundt pan (7.5-inch bundt pan (3.5 inch deep)).

2. Heat coffee, Grand Marnier, butter, and cocoa powder in a pan over moderate heat, whisking, until butter is melted. Remove from heat. Add sugar and whisk until sugar is dissolved. Transfer the mixture to a large bowl and let it cool.

3. Combine flour, baking soda, and salt in a bowl. Combine together eggs and vanilla in a small bowl, and then add the egg mixture into the cooled chocolate mixture until combined well. Add the flour mixture and mix.

4. Pour the batter into the bundt pan and bake for 40 to 50 minutes until a skewer inserted in center comes out clean.
