Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 cup (1 small) chopped onion
- 1 cup water
- 1/2 cup Ortega Thick & Smooth Taco Sauce
- 1/2 cup (4 ounce can) Ortega diced green chilies
- 1 package (1.25 ounces) Ortega Taco Seasoning Mix
- 1 package (12 ounces) Ortega Yellow Corn Taco Shells, broken, divided
- 2 cups (8 ounces) Sargento Chefstyle Shredded Mild Cheddar Cheese, divided
- Toppings: chopped tomatoes, sliced green onions
Preparation
Step 1
PREPHEAT oven to 375. Grease 11x17 inch baking dish.
COOK beef and onion until beef is browned; drain. Stir in water, taco sauce, chilies and seasoning mix. Cook over low heat for 3 to 4 minutes.
LAYER half of broken shells on bottom of prepared baking dish. Cover with half of meat sauce; sprinkle with 1 cup cheese. Repeat with remaining taco shells, meat sauce and cheese.
Bake for 20 to 25 minutes or until bubbly and cheese is melted. Top with tomatoes and geen onions.
