Peanut Power Bar

Peanut butter and sunflower nuts add protein to this tasty, homemade granola bar.

Ingredients
- 1/3 cup honey
- 1/4 cup firmly-packed brown sugar
- 1/4 cup butter
- 4 cups lowfat granola-type cereal
- 2/3 cup chunky peanut butter
- 1/4 cup semi-sweet real chocolate chips
- 2 tsp vegetable shortening
Preparation
Step 1
Combine honey, brown sugar and butter in 3-quart saucepan. Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until mixture comes to a full boil (2 to 3 minutes).
Remove from heat; stir in granola cereal and peanut butter. Press mmixture into greased 9-inch square pan.
Melt chocolate chips in 1-quart saucepan over low heat, stirring occasionally, until smooth (2 to 3 minutes). Drizzle chocolate over bars. Chill until firm (1 to 2 hours).
Cut into bars.
