  • 2 pounds asparagus trimmed, rinsed, and dried
  • 1/3 cup extra-virgin olive oil
  • Coarse salt to taste
  • Freshly-ground black pepper to taste
  • 1 orange or lemon halved crosswise
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons snipped fresh chives for garnish

Step 1

Toss asparagus in a bowl with the oil, salt and pepper; grill over high heat, turning as they brown, 7 to 8 minutes. Remove to a platter. Drizzle with any oil remaining in the bowl; lightly squeeze the orange over all. Sprinkle with chives and serve.
