  • 6 Cups Sliced Granny Smith Apples (5-6 apples)
  • 1/2 Cup Brown Sugar, packed
  • 2 tsp. Cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp. Nutmeg
  • 1 Yellow Cake Mix
  • 3/4 Cup (1 1/2 sticks) Butter, cut into thin slices

Step 1

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Spray a 13" x 9" baking pan with nonstick cooking spray. Combine apples, brown sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg in prepared pan; toss to coat. Spread in bottom of pan. Top with cake mix, spreading evenly. Top with butter in single layer, covering cake mix as much as possible. Bake 50-55 minutes or until a toothpick inserted near the center comes out lean. Cool at least 15 minutes before serving.
