Ingredients
- 2 lb. lean groung beef
- 1 lb. sweet Italian sausages, casings removed
- 1 cup fresh bread crumbs
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp. each; thyme, ground allspice
- 11/2 tsp. each: salt, ground black pepper
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/3 cup tomato paste
Preparation
Step 1
In a large bowl, crumble ground beef and sausage meat. Add
breadcrumbs,onoin,garlic,thyme,allspice,salt and pepper. Mix.
In small bowl, whisk together eggs, milk and tomato paste until smooth. Pour over meat mixture.
Mix with wooden spoons or hands until well blended.
Pack mixture into 9"x13"x3" loaf pan and place in preheated 350*F oven for 1 hour and 20 minutes.If necessary,increase oven temperature to 375*F the last 10 minutes to brown top. Pour off accumulated fat and serve hot.
