Ingredients
- 2 c split peas
- 6 c water or chicken stock (of 1/2 and 1/2 ea)
- 1/2 yellow onion, finely chopped
- 2 carrots, peeled and finely chopped
- 2 celery stalks, finely chopped
- 1 smoked bone in pork chop
- salt
Preparation
Step 1
Rinse and sort peas. Place peas i slow cooker and add the water, onion, celery, carrots and pork chop.
Cover and cook on low, 8 - 10 hrs, slow cooker, until peas are tender and meat has fallen away from the bone. Season with salt. Removean ddiscard the pork chop bone; break up any large chunks of meat with a fork.
Serve immediately
