Ingredients
- 2 cups peanut butter
- 1 cup icing sugar
- 3 lbsp finely chopped walnuts or pecans
- 2 tsp margarine or butter
- 1/2 tsp vanilla
- 250-mL jar 2 cups maraschino cherries
- chocolate compound or chunks, melted for dipping

Step 1
lend together peanut butter, icing sugar, nuts, margarine and vanilla; refrigerate.
Rinse cherries in cold water and pat dry on a paper towel.
Roll part of the mixture into a log or cigar shape and cut into walnut-size pieces. Roll into balls; then dent the centres. Wrap cherries in peanut butter mixture and mould into pear shapes. Place on a waxed paper-lined tray. Refrigerate while melting the chocolate.
Dip cherries in chocolate to finish. Place on waxed paper-lined tray and set aside in a cool place until chocolate sets.
Store in refrigerator.
