  • 1 cup butter, softened (250-ml)
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar (375-ml)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla (5-ml)
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour (675-ml)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt (2-ml)
  • 2 teaspoon baking powder (10-ml)
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda (2-ml)
  • Jar of Nutella
  • Icing sugar

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). In a large mixing bowl, cream together butter and sugar until blended. Add vanilla and eggs and beat well with electric mixer.

Add flour, salt, baking powder, and baking soda and incorporate into mixture with wooden spoon or spatula.

Use electric mixer to completely combine all ingredients.

Once combined, take a 1-inch (2.5 cm) ball of dough and pat it flat in palm of your palm. Add a teaspoon of Nutella to middle and gently form a pouch around chocolate, pinching edges together so that dough completely envelops Nutella. You can patch up cookie with more dough if Nutella tries to seep through dough.

Place cookie on an ungreased cookie sheet with 2-inches (5-cm) of space between each cookie. Place in fridge for 10 minutes. Bake in oven for 8 to 10 minutes, being careful not to brown.

Dust cookies with icing sugar.
