Ingredients
- PUFFS:
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup dark corn syrup
- 1 tbsp white vinegar
- 1 tbsp baking soda
- COATING:
- 1 tbsp shortening
- 11 oz chocolate chips
Preparation
Step 1
Heat sugar, corn syrup and vinegar together in pan. Stir over medium heat until sugar is dissolved. Continue to wook w/o stirring until mix reaches 300F on candy thermometer.
Remove from heat and add baking soda. Stir rapidly and pour into 9x9x2 pan that is lightly buttered. Do not spread. When cool break into chunks
Coating: Melt shortening and chocolate chips in top of double boiler (or in microwave). Spear puffs w/ toothpick, dip in chocolate to coat, place on waxed paper to allow chocolate to harden
