Bread Pudding - with Amaretto

Ingredients

  • 1 loaf stale French bread
  • 1 quart milk
  • 4 jumbo eggs
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 cup raisins
  • 2 Tbsp. cinnamon
  • 2 tea. vanilla
  • Topping Syrup
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 egg, slightly beaten
  • 1/2 cup Amaretto

Preparation

Step 1

Soak bread in milk in a bowl for 1 hour. Mix in eggs, sugar, raisins, cinnamon and vanilla. Pour into a 9x13 baking pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour.

Syrup: Blend sugar and butter in saucepan over medium heat, stirring constantly. Stir in egg. Cook for 1 minute, stirring constantly; remove from heat. Add Amaretto. Spoon over warm bread pudding.
